50 days before her first written paper, Lella's GCSE exams were cancelled. She remained ardent to continue learning, at a real-time pace and created opportunities for her peers and herself to gain vocational qualifications, learn about STEM careers, and acknowledge the range of opportunities many of which would have not recognised without Lella’s support.
Everything Lella works on is underpinned by her notion to ensure no decision is made about the 'digital generation' without the 'digital generation'. Lella has promoted the creation of peer-to-peer and student-led opportunities with a range of collaborators.
Lella is a tech trailblazer & has founded a wide-range of initiatives to solve tomorrow's problems, today. Including:
IBMZ-4-Good Ideathon promoted the learning of new digital skills, and the sharing of skills ‘forward’ in their community with an aim of encouraging participants to become future changemakers.
CodeTheCurve a global hackathon by IBM, SAP, UNESCO, UN EQUALS, and 20+ other collaborators.
z4GlobalGoals celebrated the annual United Nations Global Goals Week, Lella hosted a week of intergenerational panels focused on how YOU can impact your communities, schools, family, and friends to work towards solving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the support of USAID, YouthPower2Learning's Global YouthLead Network & EQUALS.
Power of Youth: #iwill Ambassador
In 2021, Lella was selected as 1 of 50 new #iwill Ambassadors for the UK. The movement encourages young changemakers to champion the causes most important to them and supports them in making a real difference to their communities.
Fellow: "Practical Utopias" with Margaret Atwood
As the youngest fellow, this is a rare opportunity to learn and collaborate with 200 changemakers – scientists, architects, planners, futurists, makers, and thinkers – from around the globe to ideate practical solutions to some of humanity’s wickedest challenges.
